Fields Covered by the Proxa Water Bursary 2026
Bursaries will be awarded to students pursuing qualifications in the following fields:
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
Who Can Apply?
To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen, born in South Africa
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 25 years
- Must have Previously Disadvantaged Individual (PDI) status
- Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Must have passed Pure Mathematics and Physical Science (Mathematics Literacy is not accepted)
- Must have achieved a minimum average of 75% in Matric
- If currently at tertiary level, must have at least 65% average for the previous year
- Must be studying or intending to study full-time in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Must be registered or applying to a South African accredited tertiary institution
What Documents Are Required?
When applying, include the following compulsory supporting documents:
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Certified copy of Matric certificate or latest Matric results/Grade 11 final report
- Certified copy of academic transcript if already studying
- Proof of registration or acceptance at a tertiary institution
- Proof of household income: payslips/affidavit/SASSA/pension letter
- Proof of residence
- Proof of disability (if applicable)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
