Fine Music Radio (FMR) invites South African music students to apply for the FMR Bursary Trust Awards for the 2026 academic year.

Bursary Location: South Africa (open to students registered at South African tertiary institutions)
About the FMR Bursary Trust Awards:
The FMR Bursary Trust Awards will be granted to students pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Music, focusing on performance. A total value of R120 000 in prizes will be awarded across the following categories:
- African Music (vocal/instrumental)
- Classical Vocal
- Classical Instrumental
- Jazz Vocal/Instrumental
Competition Format:
- Preliminary Round: Submit a 15-minute unlisted YouTube video audition (2 contrasting pieces required).
- Final Round: Top 3 finalists per category will perform live at the Baxter Concert Hall, Rondebosch:
- Classical Final: 29 July 2025 at 18:30
- Jazz/African Final: 1 August 2025 at 18:30
- Performances will be broadcast on Fine Music Radio.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen and reside in South Africa
- Must be studying towards a Diploma or Degree in Music
- Must be registered at a South African tertiary institution
