About the SAADP Bursary 2026:
The South African Actuaries Development Programme is offering full bursaries for students pursuing Actuarial Science and related degrees at one of its partner universities: UCT, UP, or WITS. The bursaries are renewable each year, based on academic performance and available funding.
The bursary covers:
- Financial Support:
- Tuition fees
- Textbook allowance
- Residence fees
- Meal allowance
- Living allowance
- Psychosocial Support:
- Mentorship by senior students
- Life skills workshops (goal setting, time management, CV writing, interviewing skills)
- Academic Support:
- Academic tutorials and extra classes
- Vacation work opportunities
- Actuarial seminars with industry experts
- Academic workshops and exam preparation sessions
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be Black or Coloured
- Currently in Matric, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study
- Minimum 80% in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) in Matric
- Minimum 80% in Physical Science in Matric
- Minimum 80% in English in Matric
- Studying or intending to study Actuarial Science or a related degree in 2026
- Must be accepted or applying to study at UCT, UP, or WITS
- Must have written or registered for the National Benchmark Test (NBT)
- Must have a passion for Actuarial Science
- Must be from a financially needy background
- Must have internet access, an active email address, and a cellphone number
