Yayasan Sabah invites applications for scholarships, bursaries, student loans

KOTA KINABALU (April 21): Yayasan Sabah Group is offering eligible students the opportunity to apply for scholarships, bursaries and student loans for the 2025 academic session.
This initiative aims to provide financial support to students from Sabah who wish to continue their education at the Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate, Master’s and PhD levels.
Commenting on this initiative, the director of Yayasan Sabah, Dato’ Sri Haji Gulamhaidar bin Khan Bahadar said, “With the implementation of this sponsorship, we hope to open more educational opportunities for talented children of Sabah. We prioritise those from our State to see more Sabahans succeed in the academic and professional fields.”
The types of sponsorship offered include the Sabah State Scholarship Award of Excellence (BCNS) for outstanding SPM 2024 students, scholarships for higher education at local public and private universities (IPTA/IPTS) in fields such as Agriculture, Architecture, Quantity Survey, Entrepreneurship, Dentistry and Islamic Studies as well as scholarships for overseas studies in countries like Indonesia, Egypt and Russia.
Student loans are also available for students who do not meet the criteria for scholarships or grants.
Gulamhaidar added, “We encourage eligible students to take advantage of this opportunity to further their studies. We believe that education is the key to future success.
“This program is a manifestation of the Yayasan Sabah Group’s commitment to the higher education needs of Sabah’s children. It helps ease the financial burden on parents and provides opportunities for students to pursue their education without barriers”.
“We hope with initiatives like this, more students from Sabah will be able to realise their academic potential and, in turn, contribute back to the development of the State,” he concluded.
Interested applicants can apply online through the Sabah Education Sponsorship Portal (PTPS) at https://ptps.sabah.gov.my. The application deadline is 30 June 2025. All completed applications must be returned to the Education Development Division, Yayasan Sabah Group, Level 5, Menara Tun Mustapha, Likas Bay, Kota Kinabalu.
