Fun, fellowship and fundraising at ELC’s annual Easter Market

The atmosphere was filled with the sounds of laughter, and lively conversations at the annual Evangelical Lutheran Church (ELC) Newcastle Annual Easter Market held on Saturday (March 29). The event not only provided a wonderful day of shopping, entertainment and fellowship while raising funds for the Evangelical Lutheran Church and St. Martins Village.

The church grounds were bustling with a variety of stalls, each offering a unique selection of goods, ranging from homemade crafts and baked treats to toys, handcrafted jewellery, and home decorations.

The organisers were delighted with the amount of people that came throughout the day. Elke Van Zyl, one of the event organisers commented that they are thankful to all those who came and supported the effort.

The money raised will go towards continuing the important work of St. Martins Village, which provides a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable children, and supports the church.

“We are grateful for the support of our local community,” said Van Zyl. “This event is not only about raising funds but about bringing people together. It’s about creating a sense of unity and shared purpose. It’s heart-warming to see so many people come out to support us year after year.”
