This bursary is specifically for **Nigerian public health professionals** who meet the following essential criteria:
- Educational Background: You need a Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology (including environmental, parasite, and veterinary epidemiology, and related studies), Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or Applied Mathematics.
- OR Specialized Training: If you don’t have the degrees above, specialized training in malaria and other infectious disease control programmes is also accepted. This includes professionals from public, private, non-profit, and non-governmental institutions across the One Health Ecosystem.
- Affiliation & Experience: You must have a current affiliation with a Nigerian public institution working in One Health (human health, animal health, and environment), and at least 5 years of professional experience.
Bonus points if you have (desirable):
- Specialised training in quantitative data analysis.
- You are a Post-Doc or Junior Lecturer in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, working in universities, non-profit, or non-governmental organizations.
- You are a Public Health/Community Medicine Resident Doctor in Training, including those affiliated with non-profit and non-governmental organizations.
- You are a Data management specialist from the Malaria Programme, National Stop Transmission of Polio cohorts, Rapid Response Teams, or other emergency preparedness and response teams, including those in non-profit and non-governmental organizations.
- You are Monitoring and Evaluation staff with expertise in quantitative data analysis, working in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as in non-profit and non-governmental organizations, across the One Health ecosystem.
- You are a Public Health Officer, Biostatistician, or Epidemiologist working in public, non-profit, and non-governmental organisations.
And don’t forget these essential skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written English.
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
