Senior IM Enterprise Architect Infrastructure

What You’ll Do: Role Purpose

As the Senior IM Enterprise Architect – Infrastructure, you will be responsible for defining and governing the enterprise technology infrastructure architecture. Your role ensures that the technology strategies align with business objectives, operational needs, and industry best practices. Key focus areas include enterprise-wide infrastructure strategy, cloud environments, networking, automation, and service management, all aimed at achieving cost optimization, risk mitigation, revenue growth, and sustainability.

Your Impact: Key Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Promote and apply Health & Safety principles in all professional activities, taking personal responsibility to ensure zero harm.

  • Infrastructure Strategy & Roadmap: Define and maintain infrastructure frameworks and cloud strategies that align with business needs and regulatory requirements.

  • Enterprise Architecture Value: Establish the Enterprise Architecture function as an internal consultancy to support business strategy execution, applying reference architectures, standards, principles, and governance.

  • Technology Evaluation: Recommend infrastructure solutions that promote efficiency, innovation, and security across the enterprise.

  • Cloud & Hybrid Solutions: Drive cloud migration, Software as a Service (SaaS) adoption, and hybrid strategies.

  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce infrastructure spend and improve efficiency.

  • Security & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to data security, privacy, and industry compliance standards.

  • Collaboration: Engage closely with IM (Information Management), IT Security, and Business stakeholders to foster alignment and successful outcomes.

  • Change Management: Support change management processes and the adoption of new technologies within the organization.

  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to ensure consistency in infrastructure delivery using enterprise standards.

  • Innovation: Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend where relevant to enhance capabilities and efficiency.

Who We’re Looking For: Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Analysis, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Desirable: Master’s degree in the same or related fields.

Certifications

  • Enterprise Architecture Framework certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).

  • Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s licence.

  • Desirable: Cloud Architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert), ITSM (IT Service Management), IT Governance & Security certifications.

Experience

5–7 years of experience in:

  • Infrastructure and/or Cloud Architecture roles.

  • Leading large-scale cloud migration initiatives across business units.

  • Modernizing and automating infrastructure in large enterprises.

  • Managing vendors, contracts, and system integrators effectively.

  • Operating within complex regulatory compliance frameworks.

  • Preferred: Experience in the mining or similar operational industries.

Skills You’ll Need: Essential Capabilities

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Deep expertise in cybersecurity, data privacy, and governance principles.

  • Proficiency in various cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization technologies, and hybrid systems.

  • Experience in API management and enterprise system integration.

  • Familiarity with data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time analytics platforms.

  • Working knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices architecture.

  • Advanced skills in data governance and driving digital transformation initiatives.

  • Developing skills in AI and machine learning applications.

Social Process Skills

  • High self-awareness and the ability to positively influence team dynamics.

  • Demonstrated determination, persistence, and consistent delivery of outcomes.

Other Requirements

  • Valid medical certificate of fitness.

  • Willingness to travel when required.
