About the Role

As a Cabling Team Leader/Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of cabling teams. Your role involves ensuring the successful installation, termination, testing, and maintenance of both fibre optic and UTP structured cabling systems across various projects in Gauteng. You will play a crucial part in maintaining high safety and quality standards while keeping projects on track.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

• Leading and coordinating the day-to-day activities of cabling teams on various sites.
• Performing hands-on installation, termination, and testing of fibre optic and UTP structured cabling systems.
• Accurately reading and interpreting technical drawings, site plans, and cabling schematics.
• Ensuring all cabling works strictly adhere to industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
• Conducting thorough site surveys and assisting in planning optimal routes and installation methods.
• Monitoring job progress closely and providing regular reports to the Project and Division Manager.
• Ensuring the correct usage and maintenance of all tools, test equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintaining detailed records of all work performed, including test results and comprehensive project documentation.
• Supervising subcontractors or junior staff, ensuring their work meets quality and efficiency benchmarks.
• Ensuring full compliance with all health and safety regulations on-site.
• Liaising effectively with clients and other contractors as required to ensure smooth project execution.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Proven experience as a Cabling Team Leader or Supervisor, specifically with fibre optic and UTP cabling.
• Strong technical knowledge of cabling installation, termination, and testing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
• Excellent understanding of industry standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• A commitment to health and safety best practices.
