Who Can Apply?

Ready to see if you fit the bill? Here’s what APRI is looking for in their next cohort:

  • If you’re currently studying in Europe, you’ll need to be enrolled in a European university (this is a requirement for some internships, often called ‘Pflichtpraktikum’ in German).
  • For our awesome applicants based in Africa or other regions, you can apply even if you’re not currently enrolled in university! As long as you’ve recently graduated or are between academic programs, you’re good to go.
  • Important: You’ll need to be able to work within the GMT+1 (Nigeria) or GMT+2 (Germany) time zones.
  • You should have strong research and analytical skills – if you’re a whiz with data analysis and visualization, that’s a huge plus!
  • Excellent written and spoken English is a must; knowing additional languages is definitely a bonus.
  • Be a self-starter who can work independently, be reliable, flexible, and awesome at organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and be ready to work collaboratively with a diverse, multicultural team.

Preferred, but not strict requirements:

  • Completed graduate studies in a relevant field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills (worth mentioning again because they’re super important!).
  • APRI encourages applicants who can complete part or all of their program in one of their offices (Berlin or Abuja) to fully immerse themselves in the team culture.

What Does It Cover?

While this isn’t a bursary that pays your university fees, it covers something even more valuable: your professional development and career launch! This program offers:

  • **Practical Experience:** Get hands-on experience working within a leading policy think tank.
  • **Professional Development:** Grow your skills in research, analysis, and advocacy.
