About the Role: Director: Provincial Infrastructure Performance
Are you an accomplished leader with a deep understanding of infrastructure development and fiscal management? The Gauteng Treasury is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead their Provincial Infrastructure Performance unit. This is a critical leadership position focused on ensuring the effective, efficient, and transparent management of infrastructure expenditure and strategic planning throughout the province.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and promote robust infrastructure funding frameworks and long-term infrastructure planning initiatives for the Gauteng province.
- Assess provincial infrastructure plans and budgets, providing expert insights and strategic guidance.
- Offer specialist infrastructure input at relevant forums involving Provincial Departments and Public Entities.
- Promote, monitor, and enforce transparent, economic, effective, and efficient management of infrastructure expenditure by Provincial Departments and Public Entities.
- Develop and institutionalise a comprehensive monitoring system for financial and performance indicators related to infrastructure projects.
- Champion, monitor, and ensure the optimal utilisation and maintenance of infrastructure by the Provincial Custodians and Users.
- Lead and manage a team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring effective people management practices.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7 as recognised by SAQA) in Built Environment, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Public Administration.
- A compulsory Pre-entry SMS certificate. This course can be accessed via The NSG website.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a Middle or Senior Management level.
Package & Benefits
This position offers an attractive all-inclusive package of R 1 266 714 per annum. The package includes a basic salary (70% of the total package) and a flexible portion that can be structured according to applicable guidelines.
