What Does It Cover?

This isn’t just a learning experience; it’s a fully-fledged, stipended programme designed to equip you for a vital role in traffic law enforcement. As a Traffic Learner Officer, you’ll embark on a 12-month journey gaining practical and theoretical skills. And yes, you’ll be getting a stipend of R67,675.56 per annum while you train! There are a whopping 154 posts available across all Limpopo districts, so there’s a good chance to serve right in your home province:

  • Capricorn District: 31 posts
  • Sekhukhune District: 33 posts
  • Mopani District: 32 posts
  • Vhembe District: 31 posts
  • Waterberg District: 27 posts

Who Can Apply?

So, do you have what it takes to join the force? Here’s what you need to be eligible for this exciting bursary-funded learnership:

  • You must have a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • You need to be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Hold a valid Code B driving licence (manual transmission is a must!).
  • No criminal record – this is crucial for a law enforcement role.
  • No visible tattoos that might be contrary to professional conduct (e.g., offensive or gang-related).
  • You’ll need to submit an original medical certificate proving you’re fit for strenuous physical exercise.
  • You must not be declared unfit to possess a firearm as per the Firearm Control Act, 2000.
  • Be prepared to work shifts, meaning 24/7 availability, including weekends and public holidays – road safety never sleeps!
  • You must be a South African citizen with valid proof of ID.

Beyond these requirements, you’ll need good verbal and written communication skills and, of course, the ability to drive a motor vehicle confidently.
