The Department of Health, under the Ekurhuleni Health District (NSDR), is seeking dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Practitioners (PHC) Grade 1. This is a crucial contract position valid until 31 March 2026, offering a vital opportunity to contribute to primary healthcare services in Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse Practitioner (PHC), your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing comprehensive, holistic, and specialized nursing/clinical care in line with set standards and within professional and legal guidelines.
- Efficiently managing and utilizing human, material, and service resources.
- Actively participating in training programs and research activities to advance healthcare practices.
- Upholding professional growth and ethical standards, and fostering the development of both yourself and your subordinates.
- Taking initiative in planning and organizing your workload, demonstrating leadership within the team, and making sound decisions concerning patient care.
- Promoting and maintaining the highest quality of nursing care as guided by core standards.
Requirements
To be eligible for this important role, applicants must meet the following qualifications and experience:
- A Grade 12 Certificate is required.
- Possess a basic qualification (Diploma or Degree in nursing) that is accredited with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of Government Notice R425, registering you as a Professional Nurse.
- Hold a post-basic qualification of at least one year’s duration, accredited with the SANC in terms of Government Notice R48. This qualification must be in a relevant specialty such as Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment, and Care.
- Have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Nursing after your registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) is mandatory.
