Production Machine Setter – Elsies River

About the Role
As a Production Machine Setter, you will be crucial to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a state-of-the-art Liquid and Cream Filling Line. This role demands a strong technical aptitude and the ability to not only set up and operate complex machinery but also to lead and train production staff when required. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Set up, test, and calibrate production machinery according to precise specifications.
- Ensure optimal balance, efficiency, and high-quality output across the entire production line.
- Provide leadership and training to production staff as needed, fostering a skilled team.
- Diagnose and efficiently resolve technical issues and machine inconsistencies to minimise downtime.
- Support equipment changes and layout adjustments, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed.
- Maintain exceptionally high standards of housekeeping and safety within the production area.
- Contribute to the review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
What You’ll Bring (Requirements)
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy).
- Proficiency in English Home Language or Additional Language – Level 4 (50-59%).
- A relevant Post-Matric qualification is essential: N6 Qualification / Diploma / BTech Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven experience with CNC machines and automated production lines.
- Familiarity with consumer product manufacturing processes.
- Exposure to pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards.
- Computer literacy, especially relating to CNC or automated systems.
- Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities.
Salary
The gross monthly salary for this position ranges from R22,000 to R25,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
