Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing final reviews and approving audits on new engineering designs, ensuring adherence to design principles and current technology.
- Researching and understanding the infrastructure needs of various health institutions.
- Coordinating design efforts across different disciplines for seamless integration.
- Monitoring current deployed technology and pioneering new engineering services.
- Managing the execution of maintenance strategies, setting standards, and monitoring efficiencies to ensure optimal operational availability.
- Allocating, controlling, monitoring, and reporting on all engineering resources.
- Compiling and managing risk logs according to sound risk management practices.
- Providing expert technical consulting services to minimise engineering risks.
- Managing and implementing knowledge sharing initiatives within the department.
- Ensuring the availability and management of funds to meet MTEF objectives.
- Managing the operational capital project portfolio and the commercial value-add of related programmes.
- Facilitating innovation proposals and monitoring expenditure against the budget.
- Managing the development, motivation, and utilisation of human resources within the engineering discipline, including setting and monitoring subordinates’ performance standards.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Degree (NQF 7) in Structural/Civil Engineering (B Eng/ BSc Eng) or an equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.
- A minimum of six (6) years of post-qualification experience as a registered Professional Engineer.
- Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
- A valid South African driver’s licence.
Salary and Benefits
This position offers a competitive all-inclusive package ranging from R 1,266,450.00 to R 2,388,657.00 per annum. This package includes a basic salary (70%) and a flexible portion (30%) that can be structured according to applicable rules, including the state’s contribution to the Government Employees Pension Fund (13% of basic salary).
