Are you an experienced finance leader in the dynamic Oil & Gas sector? A leading Upstream Oil & Gas company is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to spearhead its financial operations and strategies.
This executive role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the company’s growth, optimize its capital structure, and ensure robust financial governance in a challenging yet rewarding industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute financial strategies, providing expert advice to leadership on financial, tax, and regulatory matters. Evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and asset portfolio decisions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the comprehensive planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Monitor financial performance closely and ensure adequate funding for operations amidst evolving market conditions.
- Corporate Finance & Treasury: Optimise the company’s capital structure, manage debt/equity financing initiatives, and oversee treasury operations. Cultivate strong relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Risk Management & Controls: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks. Implement robust governance frameworks and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting, including tax management and the consolidation of group financials. Ensure strict adherence to both local and global accounting standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary financial spokesperson for the company, effectively presenting financial results and plans to key stakeholders, and managing investor relations.
- Talent & Culture: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture that aligns with the organisation’s core values.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related numerate discipline is essential. An MBA or other relevant Master’s degree will be a significant advantage.
- Must possess a professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA).
- Minimum of 15 years of proven experience delivering value within structured and well-established organisations, with at least 7 years in senior management roles specifically within an upstream oil and gas company.
- Demonstrated experience with major multi-party deal-making and managing complex financial transactions across multiple geographies.
- Strong capabilities in strategic planning and execution.
