Salary: 

Applications are hereby invited from students who are currently in Grade 12 and learners who already have passed grade 12, for financial support for further studies in the 2023 academic year. The award is limited to full-time studies at an accredited tertiary institution. Students must reside within the Greater Kannaland Municipality including the rural areas. Bursaries for approved students will be paid directly to the institution on receivable proof of registration.

The aim of this program is to develop students and learners with potential and performing learners within the Municipality’s municipal area, affording partiality to individuals from historically disadvantaged societal groups and individuals with disabilities.

Bursaries will be allocated for a period of three (3) years to allow students to undertake a full time Graduate Degree or Diploma. Students who applied for and are receiving bursaries from NSFAS can’t apply. Application forms are available at all municipal offices, during normal work hours (07:30-16:00). Applications will only be considered if it is correctly and fully completed and the following documentation is attached:

Bursaries will be awarded to students in the following fields of study (Degree/ Diploma):

  • Finance
  • Economics
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Internal Audit
  • Risk Management

 

Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate/Statement of results/ Final results
Proof of registration/ admission at any tertiary institution
Certified copy of identity document
Proof of residential address
Proof of combined household income

GENERAL:

  • Applications in writing on the official application form and accompanied by a comprehensive CV, which will be regarded as confidential, must be directed to: The Manager (Human Resources), P O Box 30, Ladismith, 6655. These conditions are compulsory and failing to comply will automatically lead to disqualification of the applicant. Application forms are available on the Municipal web-site (www.kannaland.gov.za) or electronically. Same to be requested from the Human Resource Management. No electronic applications will be accepted.
  • Original Certified copies (not older than 3 months) of proof of qualifications must accompany the cv.

  • Short listed and invited candidates might be subjected and required to undergo theoretical and practical tests.
  • If applicants are not contacted within 3 weeks of the closing date, it can be accepted that they were not successful.

PLEASE NOTE: PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO RESIDENTS WITHIN THE KANNALAND MUNICIPAL AREA LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. CANVASSING OF COUNCILLORS WITH THE PURPOSE OF BEING APPOINTED IS NOT PERMITTED AND PROOF OF SUCH CANVASSING SHALL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION.
