Broadband Infraco, a key state-owned enterprise, is all about connecting South Africa with a massive optic fibre network. These ‘placement programmes’ (which we’re calling a bursary here because it supports your career journey!) are designed to give unemployed youth like you essential workplace experience in Engineering and ICT. It’s your chance to complete your qualification requirements and jumpstart your professional life with a leader in the industry.
Who Can Apply?
Are you a qualified South African graduate eager to get hands-on experience? Broadband Infraco is looking for bright minds to join their University and TVET Placement Programmes. Here’s what you need to know:
For the University Placement Programme (6 Months – X2 Posts)
If you’re looking for experience in Operations and Maintenance (O&M), check these requirements:
- You must have a Matric (Grade 12).
- You’ve completed your theoretical studies (S4) towards a National Diploma OR N6 Certificate in:
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy or Light Current) OR
- Computer Science
- You need a letter from your university confirming that in-service training/work experience is a must-have to complete your qualification.
- No prior work experience is required – this is your chance to start fresh!
Placement Locations: One post in Beaufort West and one in East London. Local residents might get a preference here!
For the TVET Placement Programme (12 Months – X8 Posts)
Ready to jump into the Network Operations Centre (NOC)? Here’s what they’re looking for:
- You must have a Matric (Grade 12).
- You’ve completed your theoretical studies (N6) in:
- Computer Science OR
- Electrical Engineering
- You’ll need a letter from your college confirming that in-service training/work experience is required to complete your qualification.
- Again, no prior work experience is necessary!
Placement Location: All eight posts are at the Gauteng Province (Radiokop Head Office).
