Who Can Apply?
If you’re eager to build a career with your hands, here’s what Transnet is looking for:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You should be between 18 and 35 years old.
- You need to have strong communication, analytical, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- And, importantly, you must meet ONE of these qualification pathways:
Option 1: N2 Certificate with:
- Mathematics (Pure)
- Engineering Science
- Plating & Structural Drawing
- Engineering Drawing (Draughting)
- Metal Worker’s Theory
- Plater’s Theory
Option 2: N3–N6 Certificate with:
- Mathematics (Pure)
- Engineering Science
- Plating & Structural Drawing
- Engineering Drawing (Draughting)
- Mechanotechnology
Option 3: NCV Level 4 (Vocational) with:
- Fundamentals (including English and Life Orientation)
- Mathematics (Pure)
- Vocational Subjects like Engineering Process, Professional Engineering Practice, Applied Engineering Technology, and Welding.
Option 4: Technical Grade 12 with:
- Mechanical Technology (Welding and Metal Work)
- Mathematics
- Physical Science
- Engineering and Graphic Design
- Home Language and First Additional Language
- Life Orientation
