Technical Support Specialist (6 month contract)
Are you passionate about technology and providing excellent service? Capitec Bank is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Technical Support Specialist to join their team in Stellenbosch for a 6-month contract.
This role is crucial for delivering advanced technical support, identifying incident trends, and enhancing Capitec’s service desk efficiency. You’ll play a key part in improving the service experience and reducing recurring issues by using analytics, process discipline, and automation tools like CoPilot and Power Automate. What You’ll Do:
- Provide expert technical support and perform root cause analysis for escalated incidents.
- Ensure issues are resolved quickly and accurately, meeting agreed service levels.
- Act as a knowledge leader, identifying trends, documenting solutions, and driving improvements.
- Contribute to Capitec’s transformation by leveraging analytics, process discipline, and automation tools.
- Improve the service experience and reduce recurring incidents through efficient problem-solving.
Who We’re Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
- 2–3 years of experience in a technical support or IT service delivery environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex software, hardware, or network issues.
- Experience providing 2nd Tier or escalated support in a structured environment.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to knowledge base or documentation updates.
- Certification in Technical Support or Information Technology.
Ideal Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in IT service management, infrastructure, or application support.
- Practical experience in root cause analysis and problem management.
- Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., Ivanti, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
- Exposure to automation or AI-based support workflows.
- Participation in Quality Assurance or service improvement initiatives.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Technical Support.
Skills & Knowledge You’ll Need:
Minimum:
- Advanced troubleshooting techniques across software, hardware, and networking domains.
- Understanding of ITSM concepts: incident, problem, and change management.
- Knowledge base management and documentation standards.
- Understanding of Quality Assurance and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Strong Analytical, Attention to Detail, Communication, Interpersonal & Relationship management, and Problem-solving skills.
Ideal:
- Proficiency in automation or AI-assisted support tools (e.g., Microsoft CoPilot, Power Automate).
- Familiarity with analytics, reporting, and dashboarding tools.
- Awareness of cybersecurity practices and compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of banking systems, applications, and operational dependencies.
