The Future Water Institute at the University of Cape Town invites applications for a Project Manager to be based at the Water Hub in Franschhoek.
Job Description
This full-time contract position offers an exciting opportunity to support an ambitious demonstration project on the Food-Energy-Water-Waste Nexus (FEWW).
The successful candidate will lead, coordinate, and deliver scientific research and innovation activities across multiple work packages.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Environmental engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Agriculture, or related field.
- Demonstrable skills and experience in managing projects.
- Strong quantitative and experimental research skills.
- Experience in NBS treatment systems, biogas production, environmental monitoring, soil/water analysis, or hydrological/environmental modelling.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- South African citizenship or eligibility to work in South Africa.
- Driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Manage water reclamation and ecosystem restoration activities.
- Manage resource recovery components.
- Conduct market potential assessments.
- Research reporting, capacity-building, and outreach.
- General site supervision and operations.
The annual cost of employment for this fixed-term contract, including benefits, ranges between R639,581 and R752,447.
