The Future Water Institute at the University of Cape Town invites applications for a Project Manager to be based at the Water Hub in Franschhoek.

Job Description

This full-time contract position offers an exciting opportunity to support an ambitious demonstration project on the Food-Energy-Water-Waste Nexus (FEWW).

The successful candidate will lead, coordinate, and deliver scientific research and innovation activities across multiple work packages.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Environmental engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Agriculture, or related field.
  • Demonstrable skills and experience in managing projects.
  • Strong quantitative and experimental research skills.
  • Experience in NBS treatment systems, biogas production, environmental monitoring, soil/water analysis, or hydrological/environmental modelling.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • South African citizenship or eligibility to work in South Africa.
  • Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Manage water reclamation and ecosystem restoration activities.
  • Manage resource recovery components.
  • Conduct market potential assessments.
  • Research reporting, capacity-building, and outreach.
  • General site supervision and operations.

The annual cost of employment for this fixed-term contract, including benefits, ranges between R639,581 and R752,447.
