What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

As a Collections Team Leader, your key responsibilities will include:

• Supervise, support, and inspire a team of Collections Agents to consistently achieve performance targets.
• Monitor call quality and ensure all team members strictly adhere to company guidelines, industry regulations, and internal policies.
• Provide regular coaching, constructive feedback, and ongoing development opportunities to foster a skilled and motivated team.
• Analyse collection trends, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective strategies to boost recovery rates.
• Expertly handle escalated customer queries and complex accounts, providing solutions and maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Generate and present detailed performance reports to management, highlighting achievements and areas for strategic focus.

What You’ll Need (Requirements)

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following minimum requirements:

• A minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a collections role.
• At least 1 year of proven experience in a leadership or supervisory position within a collections environment.
• A strong background specifically within financial services collections.
• Demonstrated ability to manage team performance, foster a positive work environment, and build a highly motivated team.
• Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Familiarity with various collections systems, reporting tools, and relevant compliance frameworks.

This full-time position is based in Wynberg, Cape Town.
