Corporate Tax Reporting Specialist

Are you an experienced Corporate Tax Reporting Specialist looking for a new challenge? Our client is searching for a dedicated professional to join their team. In this vital role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring clients receive correct entitlements and income, accurately process corporate actions, and maintain full regulatory compliance. Your work will help minimize operational risks and support smooth financial operations.

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

As a Corporate Tax Reporting Specialist, your main tasks will include:

  • Monitoring and processing corporate actions accurately and on time.
  • Verifying all corporate action processing, cross-referencing with JSE data, and completing reconciliations within set deadlines.
  • Tracking important elective event deadlines and communicating them promptly to portfolio managers and clients.
  • Ensuring income is processed correctly, including applying withholding taxes and rebates.
  • Preparing tax reports and weekly schedules of upcoming corporate actions.
  • Responding quickly and effectively to all client and internal questions about corporate actions and tax reporting.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits related to corporate actions and tax reporting.
  • Preparing data for tax reporting, ensuring it meets all business rules.
  • Suggesting improvements for more efficient administration and operational setup for tax reporting and corporate actions.
  • Validating tax statements to ensure client data is accurate, complete, and aligns with reporting standards.
  • Supporting monthly meetings with service providers to review corporate actions and confirm tax implications.
  • Coordinating and updating base costs across both front and back-office teams.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Matric certificate.
  • A relevant Financial or Commercial degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant Tax reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with SARS eFiling and automated tax processes.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
