Decision Scientist

Capitec Bank Ltd is seeking an experienced Decision Scientist to join their team in Sandton.

Purpose Statement

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Solving business problems and creating new products and services through data science, quantitative analysis, and traditional scoring techniques.
• Analyzing and optimizing data to inform business decisions.
• Building and delivering Capitec’s AI strategy.
• Designing quantitative advanced analytics models to drive business improvement.

Education (Minimum)

The ideal candidate will have:

• An Honours Degree in Mathematics or Statistics.

Education (Ideal or Preferred)

A Masters Degree in Mathematics or Statistics is preferred.

Experience and Knowledge

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 2 years’ work experience in an analytical science role.
• Experience in statistical model development and deployment, machine learning, and quantitative analysis.
• Knowledge of cloud environments, relational databases, and machine learning languages.

Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Numerical reasoning, research, and analytical skills.
• Problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
