What You’ll Need (Requirements)
To be considered for this vital role, you must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Dental Specialist in your relevant discipline.
- Current registration with the HPCSA as a Dental Specialist in the relevant discipline.
- Appropriate experience as a Specialist in the relevant discipline after registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and training undergraduate students.
- Experience in teaching and training postgraduate students after qualifying as a specialist will be a significant advantage.
Your Responsibilities (Duties)
As a Dental Specialist, your duties will include:
- Implementing, monitoring, and evaluating academic dental services within the Oral Health platform.
- Taking on a supervisory and administrative role for the teaching and training of both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Ensuring quality assurance in teaching, training, and clinical governance.
- Conducting your own research and supervising research projects.
- Participating in other activities as directed by the Head of Department.
