ASSISTANT DIRECTOR- THERAPEUTIC & MEDICAL SUPPORT SERVICES – GRADE 1 (OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY OR PHYSIOTHERAPY)

The Department of Health is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Director in Therapeutic and Medical Support Services.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the rehabilitation services strategic development processes, facilitating the integration of occupational therapy and physiotherapy services, and improving the independence of people with various disabilities.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, registered as an independent practitioner with the HPCSA, and a minimum of three (3) years appropriate experience. Additional requirements include management and leadership capabilities, change management skills, and good communication skills.

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting and implementing clinical guidelines, treatment protocols, and SOPs, as well as coordinating the placement of students and community service professionals.
