Position Summary
The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is a vibrant and cosmopolitan institution, guided by its bold UJ Strategy 2035. The Faculty of Law is seeking a Professor/Associate Professor to join the Department of Procedural Law.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supervise postgraduate students, conduct and publish research, and take on administrative roles within the Faculty and Department.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Procedural Law
- Supervising postgraduate students
- Conducting and publishing research in accredited journals
- Taking on administrative and committee roles
- Mentoring emerging staff
- Attracting and sustaining fundraising initiatives
- Participating in community engagement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Procedural Law and at least 5 years of lecturing experience. A strong publication track record and commitment to research-led teaching are essential.
Required competencies include:
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Good teaching and interpersonal skills
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Experience in integrating ICT in teaching and learning
