What You’ll Do

As a Test Automation Engineer in the Native App Platform Team, you will:

• Help shape the future of Capitec’s mobile banking channel.
• Focus on key areas like app security, fraud prevention, and ensuring unwavering stability.
• Tackle challenges to make the app efficient, responsive, and reliable across a wide range of devices.
• Ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience even on resource-constrained hardware.
• Contribute your expertise to a major project: building an in-house device testing farm tailored to client devices.
• Write automated tests and champion client empathy in all testing efforts.
• Actively embrace new technology, challenge existing ideas, and find innovative solutions.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills:

• 3 – 5 years of Quality Assurance (QA) testing experience in a business environment.
• Proven hands-on experience with test automation.
• Ability to leverage generative AI for increased impact and productivity.
• Strong front-end testing experience, with a working knowledge of back-end testing for basic support.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end testing processes and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Ability to assess the impact of software changes across systems.
• Understanding of common software faults and how to identify them.
• Exposure to a variety of software domains and applications under test.
• Applied best practices in software/hardware testing and Software Quality Assurance (SQA).
• Proficient in test reporting, defect tracking, and follow-up processes.
• Experience in a Financial/Banking Systems environment is highly desirable.
• A proactive, self-starter who adapts easily and thrives in dynamic, growth-focused environments.

Education & Qualifications:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing (minimum).
• Software Testing – Foundation Level certification through the International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB) is ideal.
