Job Overview
The University of Cape Town (UCT) is seeking a Lecturer in Actuarial Science for the School of Management Studies in the Faculty of Commerce. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team committed to teaching, research, and transformation in the actuarial profession.
Responsibilities
The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching parts A2, A3, and F1 of the ASSA syllabus, supervising Honours and Master’s research projects, and undertaking relevant research. The appointee is expected to maintain a connection to actuarial work and participate in the activities of the professional body.
Requirements
To be considered, candidates must have at least a Master’s degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science or a related discipline, be a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa, and have experience teaching courses aligning with the syllabi of ASSA’s A212, A213, and A214 subjects. Research supervision experience is also essential.
What We Offer
The annual cost of employment, including benefits, is R941,184, plus a 50% scarcity allowance.
