Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and community engagement. The Department of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education is one of five departments in the Faculty of Education at UJ.
Responsibilities
- Involvement in teaching (contact, blended and online) at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Play a leading role in online teaching innovation
- Supervise student research at the Master’s and Doctoral levels
- Involvement in national and international research projects
- Procure funding for research
- Involvement in core activities of the department, such as academic administration, research, short-course development, marketing, and community projects
Minimum Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Mathematics Education, or a related field
- At least 5 years’ teaching experience in FET Mathematics at school level and/or in teacher education at the tertiary level
- A track record of exemplary teaching
