A leading manufacturer in Ottery, Cape Town is seeking a talented Production Manager to join their team and contribute to the success of their thriving company.

Responsibilities

Production Coordination

• Implement production schedules to meet customer demands
• Coordinate production activities with other departments
• Allocate resources including personnel, equipment/material to maximise efficiency and productivity
• Monitor production processes/workflow, adjusting schedules/resources
• Analyse production processes to identify areas for improvement/ cost reduction
• Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective action
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste
• Maintain accurate production records/documentation

Personnel Management

• Manage subordinates in line with company policies, procedures and industry collective agreement.
• Lead, motivate, train and control allocated persons
• Ensure subordinates record and report quality problems immediately
• Monitor and direct workflow of subordinates
• Hold regular performance reviews to discuss performance against objectives

Health and Safety, Quality, and Reporting

• Ensure organisational health/safety standards are maintained
• Apply company quality principles and standards
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Complete all reports and administration related to the position

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Tertiary qualification in Production Management/Operations Management (Degree or NQF 6)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Production Manager role
• Plastics manufacturing experience
