Scholarship Description:
DAAD-EPOS Scholarship for Developing Countries – M.A. in Development Management 2023-24 is open for International Students . The scholarship allows Masters level programm(s) in the field of Development Management taught at Ruhr University Bochum . The deadline of the scholarship is expired at 30 Sep 2023.
The MA in Development Management is an 18-month program that aims to train professionals to address the growing demand for experts in program and project management in the field of international development cooperation. The course provides students with a strong theoretical foundation and the tools to effectively manage development programs and projects. The curriculum includes topics such as social science and economic theories, methods of empirical research, project cycle management, and the application of theoretical and methodological knowledge.
The DAAD promotes the training of specialists from developing and newly industrialized countries through its development-focused postgraduate programs. Well-trained local experts who are connected to international partners play a crucial role in the sustainable development of their countries, and are key to achieving a better future with less poverty, more education, and improved health for all. The scholarships provide foreign graduates from developing and newly industrialized countries, from all fields of study and with at least two years of professional experience, the opportunity to pursue a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a German state or state-recognized university, and in exceptional cases, to pursue a doctoral degree, and to earn a university degree (Master’s/PhD) in Germany.

DAAD-EPOS Scholarship for Developing Countries – M.A. in Development Management 2023-24 is available to undertake Masters level programs at Ruhr University Bochum.

Scholarship Benefits:
- Depending on academic level, monthly payments of 861 euros for graduates or 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates
- Payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover
- Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding
Under certain circumstances, scholarship holders may receive the following additional benefits:
- Monthly rent subsidy
- Monthly allowance for accompanying members of family
Eligible Nationalities:
This scholarship is open to international students.
Eligibility Criteria:
Graduates with at least two years’ professional experience from developing countries are eligible to apply.
Selection
- Candidates fulfil the necessary academic requirements and can be expected to successfully complete a study programme in Germany (above-average result for first academic exam – top performance third, language skills)
- Candidates have a Bachelor degree (usually a four-year course) in an appropriate subject
- Candidates have at least two years’ professional experience
- Candidates can prove their motivation is development-related and be expected to take on social responsibility and initiate and support processes of change in their personal and professional environment after their training/scholarship
