The University of the Free State is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Officer: Data Analyst.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Structuring and managing social listening data within Omeka S.
• Maintaining and updating the Github repository for ICDF-related projects.
• Organising and maintaining digital heritage data in Omeka S.
• Providing support across multiple digital backbone projects.
• Developing a Streamlit interface for deep learning applications in HLT.
• Building an annotation system for HLT research using Streamlit.

Inherent Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or a B-Tech degree on NQF Level 7 in the field of Computer Science, plus any other undergraduate interdisciplinary qualification on NQF Level 7 or an interdisciplinary postgraduate qualification on NQF Level 8.

Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant working experience in Data Science and IT.
