Bursary Description

Scholarship Description:

20FIFTY Partners is currently offering a fully funded 2-year master’s degree by research in various areas such as environmental studies, engineering, data analytics, scientific research, and business studies. The selected candidates will be required to work on projects related to sustainability in Irish Industry, particularly with regards to the forthcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) mandatory reporting requirements for large firms. 

The areas of research include water stewardship, emissions reduction, biodiversity action, circularity, pollution prevention, sustainable supply chain management, data management and analytics, and corporate HRM development. The participants will receive extensive skills development opportunities through existing 20FIFTY Partners programmes, and network with sustainability experts and professionals throughout the two-year program. The successful candidates will be stationed at the Research Centre located at 20FIFTY Partners HQ, situated at the National Technology Park adjacent to the University of Limerick. Additionally, candidates may be offered an extension of their contract for a third year to gain practical industry experience in implementing sustainability programs.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Successful candidates will receive a stipend of €18,500 per year for two years.
  • The scholarship also includes a fee contribution of up to €5,750 per year, including non-EU fees.
  • Eligible direct research expenses of up to €3,250 per year will also be covered.
  • Candidates may have the option of a third-year placement.

Eligible Nationalities:

This scholarship is open to international students.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applications for the scholarship are open to graduates who have achieved a minimum grade of 2.1 in a relevant discipline.
  • Awards may be given to applicants who are awaiting results, provided that they achieve a 2.1 grade in their degree.
  • Applicants who need a visa to study in Ireland must have a valid visa during the application process and it should cover the duration of the master’s program, which is three years.
  • If shortlisted, candidates will need to participate in an interview and assessment process.

Application Procedure:

  • The organization is seeking Expressions of Interest, which should include a CV, a personal statement describing the applicant’s research interests and motivations, and two referees (one of whom must be the academic supervisor).
  • Applicants who have secured funding from other sources should provide information on this funding.
  • Applicants who require a visa should provide adequate details to support their application, including the expiry dates of any visas held.
